Joe Charnigo

Joe Charnigo, known affectionately as “Ohio Joe,” is a celebrated figure in the trapshooting community, hailing from Lodi, Ohio. With an extensive and successful career, Joe has achieved numerous milestones, including winning the prestigious Grand American ATA World Clay Target Champion Title. His career has been defined by consistent excellence, with impressive shooting statistics that highlight his dedication to the sport. Throughout his career, Joe has shot over 80,000 targets in singles and over 81,000 in handicap, maintaining a remarkable lifetime average of 97.90% in singles and 92.05% in handicap.

 

Joe’s skills are demonstrated not only by his victories but also by his continued success in recent years. In 2025, he posted a 98.56% hit rate in singles and a 98.13% in doubles, further cementing his place among the sport’s elite. His performance has remained strong across the board, with impressive results in both singles and doubles, including a 99.08% hit rate in singles in 2021. Known for his focus, precision, and longevity in the sport, Joe Charnigo’s legacy continues to inspire new generations of trap shooters, making him one of the most respected and accomplished athletes in trap shooting history.
